Our client is a prominent market leader in the resource and recycling sector employing over 3000 employees on over 70 sites across the UK. Following an exciting period of growth, the company are looking to expand their SHE function within the business across the south of England to compliment and improve the SHE performance within the business, with roles in the South East and South West.
Reporting into the Regional SHE Manager key responsibilities will include developing and leading the implementation of company-wide SHE strategies and policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. In addition, the role will include maintaining operational compliance with the environmental permit and ensuring the EMS is effective and staff understand its importance.
Being the point of contact for audits and inspections this role will play a crucial role in the control of hazards on site and ensuring the necessary measures are in place.
Candidates will require experience working across multi-sites working with management and site staff and providing training as required as well as audits and maintenance of management systems.
A qualification in Health & Safety and/or Environment will be advantageous but crucial will be a background in high hazard or an industrial setting.
