Safety Systems Engineer
£46.5K plus 20% shift allowance
Would you like the opportunity to manage the safety of engineering operations at a large energy from waste (EfW) site? This growing company are fully committed to the highest standards of safety, and you will be responsible for ensuring that standards continue to be met as the company expands.
This is a fast-paced, high-risk environment, which requires strong leadership and an experienced safety engineer.
You will be liaising with the maintenance team, to identify any defects within the plant and releasing machinery to maintenance where appropriate. You will need to complete safety documentation and be fully compliant with safety and environmental legislation.
You'll be NEBOSH qualified, as well as having an HNC/HND in engineering. First aid certification is also desirable.
You'll also be responsible for creating a culture of safety across the operational team, giving advice and training where required.
You'll also need to review LEL and Contractor's risk assessments and method statements and must have a clear understanding of the site safety regulations and procedures, which you will also review and provide improvement recommendations.
You'll be available to deputise for the Shift Manager when required and support the maintenance team in planning for outages.
