Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure work is carried out in a safe manner by employees and contractors working on all sites.

  • To monitor and report on Health and Safety standards.

  • To plan and prioritise your own workloads with your line manager, and in line with departmental key performance indicator targets.

  • To plan and prioritise the workload of your PV Technician.

  • To liaise with staff, contractors and outside agencies to resolve issues that have a direct impact on site performance.

  • To liaise and manage contractors working on site.

  • To manage maintenance schedules for designated hub areas.

  • Carry out risk assessments, audits, respond to tickets within the SolarVista tool, and any other admin as required.

  • To undertake training as required.

  • To keep abreast of relevant legislation in line with PV Technician's role.

  • To be part of the team on-call rota at weekends.

  • To undertake any other adhoc duties as required, as deemed appropriate within the Senior PV Technician's knowledge and skills base.

Person Specification:

  • The person will have a "can do" positive attitude to their work and lead by example.

  • Have proven track record in managing a small team.

  • Be able to create staff work schedules and plan remedial works.

  • Have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite.

  • Knowledge of electrics, engineering and groundworks.

  • Have a full / clean driving licence.

Be first aid trained in line with HSE guidance.



  • Previous Solar PV maintenance experience, ideally on MW-scale or large commercial systems
  • Experience of working remotely without close supervision


  • Solar PV installation experience (MW-scale or large commercial ground-mount)
  • Experience installing or maintaining ethernet and fibre optic communications
  • Experience working with SCADA or data monitoring systems
  • Central inverter experience
  • High Voltage experience


  • High Voltage qualifications


  • Full UK driving licence
  • Qualified electrician (17th edition)
  • Inspection and testing qualifications (C&G 2391 or 2394/5)


  • First aid qualifications
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, SSSTS, CSCS)
  • Advanced electrical qualifications
  • Solar PV qualifications (C&G 2372 or C&G 2399)
  • Central inverter qualifications
