Allen & York are delighted to be working with a leading insurance business as they look to recruit a Sustainability Executive to deliver their ambitious sustainability strategy.

Working with the Chief Sustainability Officer who sits on the Board and who has recently developed the sustainability strategy, you'll be joining a company who believe in the value of sustainability and where your actions will be key to driving progress and establishing a network of champions throughout the business as you deliver the strategy.

You'll be working with Teams to look into their investment strategy, with the aim of becoming carbon neutral and also delving into the ESG funds as well as embedding sustainability and climate change related policies so your project management and relationship building skills will be called upon.

As you'll be working in a regulated industry, experience of complying with regulations and standards related to climate change (TCFD and SS3/19) will be extremely beneficial and you will ideally have experience of working in the insurance or financial services sector.

You will be highly numerate, with the ability to decipher complex excel models in relation to net zero planning and carbon emissions and any experience of modelling/projections will also be beneficial as this will support the Scope 3 emissions work. In addition to this, you will be able to take a broad view of sustainability and see the bigger picture in a corporate sector. You'll also be involved in the D&I agenda and the CSR framework.

You'll have a positive, can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop and take people on the journey with you. As such, you will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as you'll be liaising with a large number of stakeholders, some very senior and most of whom will not be familiar with the discipline. Indeed, behavioural change will form a large part of this role, and it's linked to the company's wider messaging and branding.

Based in the London offices but with the option to work from home a few days a week, the role will suit professionals based in the South East or who can easily reach London.
