Focusing on both environmental and social elements, you'll be passionate about both and experienced in the relevant areas.
Principally, your experience of developing and implementing a sustainability strategy will be invaluable, as will your experience of engaging with multiple stakeholders, in this case senior members of the business to educate, influence and collaborate with, and your corporate communications skills will also be beneficial as you share best practice with the sustainability champions and others within the business.
In addition, you will have experience of some, if not all, of the following: supply chain, modern slavery, ethical trade, reporting (carbon), ESG, data analysis and due diligence. Your c.4 years' relevant experience, coupled with a relevant environmental degree and membership to a professional body will stand you in good stead.
With their headquarters in the South West and retail stores throughout England (and even some in Europe) this role is ideal if you are based outside of London and happy to travel into the offices c.2-3 times a week, with the remainder of time working from home or for occasional trips to the stores. With their manufacturing site in China, you will also travel to China roughly twice a year to oversee the operations here, so it's a fantastic opportunity for someone who's committed, passionate and experienced across all areas of sustainability, who is looking for autonomy and ownership of projects in an international context. Your remit will even extend to overseeing the company's Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO14001:2015.
You'll be competent at manging your workload and planning your time, have excellent communication skills so that you can interpret complex information to a non-technical audience and you'll be a strong team player. In return, a competitive salary and benefits package is on offer to the right candidate so if you'd like to find out more about this opportunity, call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207.
