Allen & York have been retained by our client to assist in appointing an SVP Safety, based in Helsinki or Stockholm.
Many of the products we use on a daily basis begin life with our client and with recent acquisitions they have now become one of the world's largest private land owners. A multi-billion-dollar organisation operating globally and employing over 25,000 employees in over 30 countries, operating in the bio-economy they have a passion for sustainability and operate across 6 divisions.
As SVP of Safety you will play a critical part in leading the global safety agenda for the organisation, developing strategic actions to ensure the global safety programme is at the forefront of the business and is integrated across all divisions globally.
Success in this role will depend on the incorporation and buy in with key stakeholders including, the Executive Management team, Board Members and Divisional Directors. It is expected that in the first year there will be a high degree of travel to help achieve the overall objectives of achieving world-class safety and building strong relations throughout the business.
Candidates should have a background of working in a heavy industry environment, operating in a previous global role heading up the safety function across a multi-sited business. A critical success factor will be the ability to demonstrate a track record in culture change across a global enterprise, leading teams of senior individuals and placing safety at the forefront of the business and the consciousness of the workforce.
Candidates will have a proven track record working in an international organisation delivering world- class safety across a de-centralised structure with the ability to lead and influence with gravitas and excellent communication skills, including a fluency in English.
To be considered for this role candidates should recognise that this role is located in Finland or Sweden which is non-negotiable, therefore full relocation will be required for those not already in country.
