Technical Director - Environmental Permitting/Planning

Location: Warwickshire

An exciting opportunity working within a environmental consultancy working with clients within the public and private sectors. The consultancy are now looking to recruit a Technical Director within their Planning/Environmental team based in Warwickshire.

Job Role

You will be responsible for the technical quality and the development of the above service within Planning and Permitting.

You will provide direction and support to consultants in the management and undertaking of the above sector.

You will assist with technical support for the environmental monitoring of operational and closed landfill sites, supervision of site monitoring, data analysis and interpretation and the assessment of hazardous wastes and their disposal.

To provide training to other consultants as required.

Proofing responsibilities in compliance with the QA system as appropriate.

As a key member of the consultancy you will be expected to play a proactive role in Company performance and management and the development of new business opportunities for strategic growth and development of the Company.

To represent the consultancy at business and social events and promote the consultancies services and interests at all opportunities.

Attendance at Technical Directors meetings.

To carry out quality procedures in accordance with the quality system.

Liaise with clients and regulatory authorities during projects.

Control the quality, progress and costs of project.s

Preparation of letters, reports or other written work as required by the Company.

Timely preparation of invoices to clients and chasing settlement when appropriate.

Responsible for project performance and control including research and development work and to work as necessary as part of project teams.

To undertake a range of duties arising out of the overall workload of the consultancy.

Responsibility for completion of own CPD records to demonstrate that you are actively working towards improving skills through continuous learning and development activities.

Skills, knowledge and experience

BSc qualification in relevant subject area.

Previous experience of working with Quality Management Systems would be an advantage.

Experienced in the use of Microsoft and Excel.

Commitment to high standards.

Good administrative and organisational skills.

Ability to prioritise workloads.

Driving licence.

Experience of Project management, budgeting and financial control.

High standards of written work.
