Our client has been working in the waste and recycling sector for over 30 years working with business', local authorities and the domestic markets. This opportunity is for an enthusiastic graduate with a view to succession planning, to join our client as a Trainee Organics Manager. By working directly with the manager, you will receive the opportunity to learn all aspects of the 'green' composting operation and develop industry specific qualifications
Our client has a contract with Devon County Council to compost most of Devon's garden waste at several sites around the county. The operation consists of receiving garden waste, shredding and screening of the material to produce a finished PAS100 compost product. The operation receives about 50,000 tonnes of garden waste per year.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contract management, including monthly reporting and liaising with DCC.
- Financial management and systems including understanding and complying with budgets.
- Understand all aspects of the regulatory and compliance requirements, which includes PAS100. Full training will be given.
- Understand the day-to-day operations and develop skills on the operation plant and equipment.
- Receive third party training as required (COTC Composting)
- Working with internal staff as required including providing leadership where required and as the post develops.
