Our client is a leading regional waste management company, specialising in integrated waste and resource management.

They currently have a requirement for a Bid Manager to join their growing Northern UK based team.

Reporting into the Business Development Manager, the Bid Manager's primary role is to the preparation of the project tenders from pre-qualification through to contractual / financial close and assisting mobilisation. The Bid Manager's purpose is to develop detailed, robust and deliverable technical and commercial solutions for bids and to manage a multi-disciplined bid team (both internal and external) as well as develop relationships with new and existing public sector customers within the region.

You will also organise and lead a "Project Team" and/or "Bid Team" to ensure all required information is made available, collated, and relevant and produced in such a manner that all the tender requirements are compliant with the Request for Proposal (RfP) / Invitation to Tender (ITT) Documents.

Where required, the successful applicant will also support or lead other development projects to meet the needs of the region in delivering its business growth strategy.

Candidates will have a responsibility for identifying business development opportunities through participation in educational opportunities, (waste industry events, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organisations).

Degree qualified with a strong knowledge and experience of the waste management field, it would be expected that candidates have experience in complex bid estimation and bid preparation, including operational and financial modelling and forecasting. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at a senior level will be required.
