Great development opportunity for a Calibration Engineer to join a Pharmaceuticals client in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will provide a support service to facilitate the repair, maintenance, calibration and certification of laboratory instrumentation onsite.


Role Summary:

  • To carry out service, repair and calibration to Laboratory Instrumentation including, Centrifuges, Incubators, and Balances
  • To carry out calibration to reference equipment including but not limited to RH Probes, Temperature probes, pressure gauges, multimeters and weights
  • Liaise with staff with regards to the services required for the efficient installation, maintenance, moves and relocations and support of proposed items of instrumentation
  • To qualify, redeploy, repair, service and calibrate equipment, either by direct application of own expertise or develop knowledge via original equipment manufacturers training
  • Liaise with visiting engineers responsible for commissioning or servicing equipment
  • Use knowledge and experience to ensure a high standard of safety of equipment is maintained
  • Develop knowledge and expertise so that those ramifications of new technologies are fully understood
  • Offer comments, where asked, on engineering and scientific aspects of proposed equipment
  • Conform, when required, to individual service record documentation protocols that exist within the company departments
  • To assist in providing site coverage from the hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm for support to scientific staff and for the safety of visiting engineers
  • To accommodate all reasonable requests from management, such that continuity of support is given to customers and sites from both a business and operational perspective.

Experience Required:


Essential

  • Strong proven Laboratory instrumentation background
  • cGxP Experience / Training
  • Pharmaceutical / Regulated working back ground Science/Engineering
  • Original Equipment Manufacturers Experience
  • ONC or Equivalent in Engineering / Electronic discipline
  • Calibration Experience



Desirable

  • City & Guilds inspection / Testing
  • HNC/HND
  • Degree Electrical / Electronic/Science
  • ISO 17025 experience
  • Incubators, Balances
  • Temperature / Humidity probes
  • Pressure Gauges
