Job Overview

To support in the implementation of a comprehensive consultation strategy for the expansion Development Consent Order (DCO) and airspace change programme, so that necessary consents are achieved in a timely and cost effective manner, delivered in line with corporate values.

Principle Accountability

Support the development and implementation of an ambitious and innovative consultation strategy with robust systems of recording and feedback of issues raised; including producing clear client briefs for consultant work activities and managing our nominated undertakers and delivery agents and interfacing effectively with colleagues.

Support the development and implementation of a detailed programme and plan for statutory, public and stakeholder consultation that means interests are protected and that the programme is not delayed. Accountable for delivering key elements of this, as agreed with the Head of Consultation.

Work very closely with the Communications team to ensure the consultation strategy dovetails with existing engagement strategies and tactical plans, building on existing relationships, where possible.

Work proactively with technical experts to ensure consultation material produced meets planning requirements and are fully accessible to public audience. Proactive management of interfaces is critical for this role.

Act as deputy for the Head of Consultation, as required, including interacting with Programme governance.

Ensure process is robust and recorded, and systems are in place for managing budget, progress and risks.

Qualifications and Experience

Detailed knowledge of stakeholder engagement and consultation

Strong written, verbal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills.

Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
