The role involves working on a time-limited but very high profile analytical project to estimate the volumes of high value housing assets local authorities hold and will expect to become vacant over the course of a typical year. The analysis will be used directly for local government funding proposals and it is therefore crucial that the data is complete and fully quality assured.
Working under the guidance of a lead analyst to process and check housing data sent from local authorities. You will be expected to check for internal consistency of the data using SPSS or Excel and to check figures against other statistical sources, published or unpublished. Data inconsistencies and errors will need to be queried back to the data providers (local authorities) and either data resupplied or errors corrected with audit trails recorded. Data will be expected to be delivered over a very short period of time so you will be expected to have very good task management skills in order to ensure that validation of data is completed within agreed timescales.
