Our privacy needs protection.

In today's world our personal data is collected and used in so many ways, and although there are attempts to keep it secure and stored correctly we need to enforce our right to be forgotten.

You have been working with Data Protection legislation and frameworks for a while now; you're not the sort of person who is jumping on the trendy bandwagon of GDPR just because it's the in-thing right now, but because it matters to you. Working within the public sector or a private complex multi-stakeholder environment, when it comes to data protection you really understand what matters, but more importantly why it matters.

As a certified data protection manager, you are familiar with the recording and monitoring of security and safety of data, and are equipped to advise and present updates of the frameworks to stakeholders internally and to the 24 business units that you will be working with. You can relate this information in a clear way to avoid confusion and to avoid the financial costs that businesses incur when they get it wrong.

You will work closely with the Data Protection Officer, deputising for him when needs arise and managing the two Data Protection Analysts who will work closely with you. Your ability to manage your own workload will allow you to delegate tasks to them if appropriate, and together as a team deliver a professional consultative compliance service.

This is a new team and so you have the chance to make a lot of impact. Your manager is hard working but is enthusiastic and fun too and likes to bring that energy to Data Compliance, so a great colleague to bounce ideas and strategies off.

There isn't a 'typical day' in your line of work, and your daily tasks will be varied and take you outside of the office too - which is where your monthly travel allowance comes in. You also benefit from private health care and your base salary gets an additional bonus which increases depending on your performance management review up to 25%!
