Allen & York have been approached by a specialist ground investigation firm, operating across the UK from their base in the West Midlands. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in site investigation, with a track record of supervising complex intrusive projects for both geotechnical and contaminated land purposes. On top of this, you will have managed projects from cradle to grave and be adept a producing associated Phase 1 and 2 reports, DQRA reports and relevant health and safety documentation.
The successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for the planning of field operations in terms of technical direction, health and safety and management of a range of ground investigation sub-contractors. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of health and safety with regard to site works. Experience in managing subcontractors is required, particularly drilling contractors and plant suppliers. Experience is also required in working on active industrial and commercial or development sites. Experience and competence in logging to current BS5930 is required.
A degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred; a Masters degree in a relevant subject would be an asset but not essential. Current Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is desirable.
Any shortfalls in the successful candidate's training or experience will be addressed by a period of in-house and external training on joining the company.
