An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well respected multi-disciplined engineering organisation. This role will be key in bridging the gap between the technical and financial decision making processes across a wide range of business sectors.
This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a number of high-profile decisions for a number of different clients, informing crucial decisions that affect the way organisations are run, and what work they will undertake. Additionally you will work on a number of programmes and projects, and have the opportunity to further develop project management and other commercial skills in a technical environment.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering investment appraisals, and have a wide range of commercial and Business skills. Additionally they will have experience of working in an engineering environment. The ability to interpret financial information and understand the bigger picture will be essential.
A financial or commercial qualification is desirable, but not essential. A willingness to learn new skills, and develop existing ones is essential.
Holds a degree in a suitable subject (Engineering or Business related)
CIMA Qualified or equivalent
The ideal candidate will have a proven record in commercial decision making, and be able to develop a number of decision making tools (for example cost/benefit analysis, Earned Value Management, Investment Appraisals). You will also have a business acumen and be able to see the bigger picture in terms of decision making and wider financial advice (eg. How can finances be raised, and what will be best for the enterprise as a whole). Whilst not being an engineering expert, you should be able to work with technical experts, and be able to present financial data to non-financial professionals.
