Allen & York are working in partnership with a consultancy group to grow their Contaminated land team in the South East. We are looking for a consultant level individual to input into a major residential development in the region, as well as a range of infrastructure and framework lead projects. 

Key Skills

Technical Competencies

  • Good knowledge of Contaminated Land Legislation and Guidance in England and Wales CLR 11, NHBC Publication 66, BS:10175, BS:5930 
  • Completion of Phase 1 Desk Study / Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Generic Risk Assessments 
  • Able to prepare robust and cost efficient ground investigation designs and sampling strategies 
  • Managing intrusive ground investigations using Keynetix Holebase SI software for data interpretation and statistical appraisal (based upon CL:aire's Guidance on Comparing Soil Contamination Data with a Critical Concentration) 
  • Human Health, Controlled Waters and Ground Gas Risk Assessment with a working knowledge of C4SLS and LQM's S4ULs 
  • Detailed Risk Assessment using CLEA v1.06 / RBCA / CONSIM / RTW 3.2 software, 
  • Remediation Options Appraisals / Remediation Strategy / Specification writing 
  • Tendering and Contract Administration (ICC, NEC3) and familiarity with Demolition, Enabling, Earthworks and Remediation Works Contracts.

Person Specification

  • MSc educated in Environmental Sciences (or related subject) 
  • Applied degree modules relating to Contaminated Land 
  • Between 0-2 years relevant experience 
  • Numerate with strong data management and good report writing skills 
  • Good Project Management skills 
  • A highly motivated, ambitious and team player with good communication skills
