We are engaged with a specialist communications agency based in London, they are seeking to appoint a Head of Business Development to join an established team reporting directly to the CEO. This is a new senior strategic position in which you will work very closely with senior stakeholders and internal teams including marketing and managing the business development team. The agency works closely with large multinational organisations across Europe and Asia, helping these organisations tell their corporate story in a bespoke, innovative and creative way. Communications cover areas of sustainability communications, employee and investor engagement.
As Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for managing the business development team including mentoring, guiding and performance reviews. You will also be responsible of growing and nurturing existing clients as well as succeeding new business development targets. You will be accountable for developing and implementing new business plans in line with company objectives in order to achieve new business revenue targets. You will build strong internal stakeholder relationships including CEO and senior stakeholders reporting on sales and progress against targets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing client relationships, you must have a steady and strong B2B background ideally experience of working in a similar environment.
In relation to the above, you will also work very closely with the Marketing Team to ensure all relevant marketing activities are in line with business development activities and these are delivered to a high standard. Together with your team you must ensure all prospect contacts are profiled with accuracy and information is kept up to date on internal databases, working closely with your team to develop campaigns including social marketing plans which will be executed by the marketing team.
As Head of Business Development, you will lead on client appointments and support the business development team in the preparation of any proposals or pitches.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets within a similar role. You must have a B2B background and an understanding of the sector. You will also have experience of managing a team with strong leadership qualities and strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Ideally previous experience of working within a corporate communications/agency environment
- Degree qualified in a relative field, i.e. Marketing or commercial business discipline
