Head of Field Service

 

Reports to: Head of O&M Service Delivery

Remuneration: Salary dependent on experience, 25 days annual leave, pension, healthcare, life cover

Location: Various sites across the UK

Role Summary:

The Head of Field Service is responsible for leading and managing the regional Field Service team and helping them to manage all service and operational aspects of the sites we operate and maintain ensuring the services are delivered safely in line with time, quality, budget criteria.

This role requires strong leadership and management skills across the O&M team including colleagues and peers.

Duties and responsibilities:

Managing Up:

  • Issue escalation and resolution management;
  • Management reporting including KPI's;
  • Attendance and impactful contribution at team management meetings;
  • Input into budget setting;
  • Proposal development and pitching;
  • Taking responsibility for performance of the Field Service team.

 

  • Line Management of Regional Operations Managers;
  • Line Management admin (HR, appraisals, leave, policy enforcement, approvals, salary reviews);
  • People development (mentoring, training, 121's);
  • Issue escalation path;
  • Task allocation, delegation and resource planning;
  • Budget tracking, control and management;
  • Scheduling, management and attendance at asset and contract performance reviews with key internal stakeholders;
  • Spend authorisation;
  • Quality assurance of details submitted;
  • Resource management to respond to growing or shrinking portfolios.
  • Service Delivery management reviews;
  • Integration and co-ordination with O&M and BSR Group teams to ensure activities are aligned to achieve objectives;
  • Development and delivery of opportunities for improvement;
  • Cross functional project team leadership.

 

Regional O&M Operations Manager duties:

To lead the Regional Field Service team in taking accountability for:

 

  • Development, tracking and updating of the planned maintenance schedules;
  • Co-ordination of reactive maintenance interventions;
  • Site H&S inductions and supervision of site inspections;
  • Sub-contract administration, delivery co-ordination, works inspection and compliance;
  • Intra and inter team communications and situational awareness;
  • Daily updating and review of the Redmine O&M activity tracking system;
  • Interrogation of the monitoring system in support of planned and reactive field operations;
  • Spare parts stock tracking, control, management and reporting;
  • Raising purchase requisitions and co-ordinating fulfilment of orders in line with field service schedule requirements;
  • Warranty claim administration;
  • Arranging and co-ordinating equipment calibrations;
  • Supporting the ongoing development, trial, roll out and adoption of PowerApps;
  • Site on-boarding process co-ordination with all areas of the O&M team;
  • Disseminating minutes of intra and inter team meetings;
  • Participation in regular asset performance and O&M contract reviews;
  • Team, supplier and equipment logistics;
  • Capture, filing, collation and review of Field Service test and inspection data, records and reports;
  • Locating, collating and providing documentation to Field Service team members;
  • Membership of the O&M on-call duty rota;
  • IMS adherence and input to ongoing development of the systems;
  • As required, to carry out, first hand, Service Technician and Maintenance Operative duties as part of the team field service delivery capacity;
