Salary: £50,000-£55,000 plus car

We are currently looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager to join our award winning client within the manufacturing industry. This role will focus on providing comprehensive direction and support to site in the areas of Health and Safety. As a member of the site Senior Leadership Team, your responsibility will be to implement group Health, Safety strategy, at site level, ensuring legal compliance and Company standards are achieved and maintained.

Core Responsibilities
Working closely with the corporate teams to implement effective management systems for occupational health, safety and security, which reduce the risk of safety and security, and is audited annually.
Lead the cultural / behavioural occupational health and safety step change programme on site by working closely with managers and employees, providing appropriate training to support.
Co-ordinate the investigation of any accidents or incidents effecting people / property or process. This includes liaising with any enforcement authorities, as a senior Accident Investigator. Drive improvement programme following any incidents.
To manage site audits and enforcement authority visits, to ensure successful compliance and close out of corrective actions.
To develop and manage locally documented H&S management systems and audits.

The Successful candidate will have:
The NEBOSH Health and Safety Diploma with IOSH Membership to ensure continuing professional development.
Experience in a manufacturing business, including in people management and cultural change programmes.
Experience of IPC/EP permitting and reporting where relevant, and IEMA associate membership
Management system knowledge of OHSAS18001.
Experience at management level, able to communicate with and influence peers, and deliver performance improvements through a structured and systematic approach.
Experience of managing external relationships with enforcement agencies e.g. HSE, Fire and EHO etc.
