My client is a design-led visual merchandising services company specialising in the design and manufacture of mannequins, bust forms and visual merchandising related equipment.
We are looking to hire an experienced, hands-on Health & Safety manager to bring our new factory up to current standards in all areas of Health & Safety. The successful candidate will be abreast of all current Health & Safety legislation and familiar with a broad range of manufacturing techniques, material and equipment, including joinery, electrical, fibreglass and spray painting and legislation including COSHH, Electricity at Work regulations, PUWER and etc.
The successful candidate would be required to work closely with the external Health & Safety consultant on identifying immediate actions, processes and procedures to be implemented, and then take full ownership and hands-on approach to delivering these. The role is expected to last for 6 months depending on the work identified.
The successful candidate will be highly credible, confident, articulate and with a great deal of drive and character to push through cultural change as well as practical implementation, and will ideally be experienced in small-to medium sized hands-on manufacturing and the particular challenges that can present. They will also be required to carry out employee work station assessments.
