Allen & York are currently recruiting for exciting opportunity with an international Exhibitions company, as we seek to appoint a Health and Safety Manager to be based out of Dubai but undertake a global management function.

The primary focus of the Health and Safety Manager is to provide support and advice to the divisional CEO and ensure that the management of Health and Safety provision of the various events teams meets the required and expected standard. The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for providing support and advice to the operational teams across the division and will also be responsible for remotely supporting the companies Europe based H&S Advisor.

The Health and Safety Manager is expected to assume the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain global Health and Safety policy and procedures
  • Assess the suitability of venues worldwide
  • Advise on Contractor Management, in line with Group policies
  • To monitor evaluate and review new and upcoming H&S legislation and ensure systems and practices are in place to meet legal compliance
  • Provide the required technical expertise to all areas of GE, via the use of in-house skills development or sourcing of external assistance where necessary
  • Site visits where necessary to review safety
  • Production of specific Health and Safety plans for events where necessary and ensure they are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands
  • Audit Health and Safety Management Systems in a timely manner
  • Co-ordinate with internal and external Audit
  • Collect and report all Health and Safety data as required
  • Implement, further develop and maintain the events training schedule
  • Review annually the Health and Safety training provision
  • Produce regular reports as required by the Risk Committee and Group where necessary
  • Offer support and guidance to the HR Advisor (K&N)

The ideal applicant will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, abilities and qualifications:

  • A good knowledge of facilities Health and Safety Management
  • A good knowledge and understanding of the exhibitions and events business (desirable)
  • A strong understanding of management systems
  • Knowledge of SAP

Essential Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma, Chartered Member of IOSH or a minimum of Graduate Member of IOSH or equivalent
  • A Fire and Food safety qualification
