Our client is seeking a Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. Your role will be to develop and maintain a positive Health and Safety culture across all sites, working with colleagues at all levels of the business. Your role will be to ensure the Company and its employees comply with legislation and HSE requirements, you will minimise risk to the Company, its employees, workers, customers and other third parties through promoting and supporting a safe working environment. You will develop, review and deliver high quality health and safety inductions and training for all employees and agency workers as appropriate, including mandatory training and job specific training. You will ensure that health and safety audits are carried out on existing and new working practices and that appropriate risk assessments are in place and kept up to date, including DSE assessments, Noise and Dust Surveys, plus ensure any action identified to reduce risk are implemented. You will conduct accident investigations, ensure accidents and near misses are properly reported and recorded and any corrective action necessary is implemented promptly.
You will be expected to demonstrate a pro-active and hands on approach to health, safety and environmental issues and to be a positive presence on the factory floor, have the confidence to challenge poor practice and to support workplace improvements, be friendly, approachable and eager to get involved with the day to day operations and carry a consultative and supportive approach to resolving issues. You will also have a sound understanding of workplace ergonomics, particularly as it relates to manufacturing environment. Previous exposure to a similar manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous, you must hold a NEBOSH Certificate (and ideally NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety) Knowledge of Must have an understanding of RIDDOR and COSHH regulations.
