Allen and York are delighted to be working with a leading consultancy in Health and Risk Management, who are seeking a NEBOSH qualified Fire, Health and Safety Consultant

Location - London/South East

Salary - up to £33,000 dependant on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities of the Fire, Health and Safety Consultant

  • To provide direct support to clients Health, Safety & Fire Manager in all areas of the health and safety management system
  • To maintain and develop established business relationships with clients, through development of business opportunities and effective management of client portfolios
  • To act as a source of technical expertise and knowledge to clients and colleagues
  • To carry out risk assessments, premises and operational audits for clients and produce detailed reports of health, safety and fire findings, defects and improvement opportunities, undertaking and reporting on actions
  • To investigate and report to clients on incidents, providing whatever advice is appropriate to prevent a recurrence of the incident

Required Skills and Qualifications
You will have a formal qualification in Health and Safety at Work and Fire Safety including either:

  • BSc Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management

You will also have Professional association/affiliation with technical bodies including one or more of the following:

  • Member of IOSH (Graduate/working towards or chartered member)
  • Corporate member CIEH
  • Registered Safety Practitioner
  • Member RSH

Experience of working with asbestos, radiation or BS9999, or a previous role with a local authority as an EHO and a good technical understanding of Fire Safety and Health and Safety at Work would be an advantage

The role is field based so flexibility and the ability to work under your own initiative is key, but you should also be comfortable working as part of a team.
