Position: HSE Manager
We are currently looking to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our award winning client within the manufacturing industry. This role will focus on providing comprehensive direction and support to site in the areas of Health and Safety, Security and Environment.
Primary responsibility for HSE compliance across the site. Key ownership for ensuring all functions achieve their deliverables in a safe and appropriate manner. Particular consideration given to management of capital projects and contractor control.
To formulate, develop and lead an effective compliance strategy for the site through communication to ensure ownership and accountability at the right level.
Develop succession plan for HSE function.
To implement effective management systems for health, safety, security and environment, which reduces the risks of injury, damage, theft, or pollution, and is audited annually.
Lead the cultural / behavioural health and safety step change program on site by working closely with managers and employees, providing appropriate training to support.
To actively support the site team in working closely with customers and their individual compliance standards to achieve the highest levels of audit and accreditation.
To drive appropriate standards of HSE on site for all individuals, site based visitors, contractors, security etc.
To improve Health, Safety, Environmental issues on site by challenging the status quo and current performance through behavioural / cultural change. To identify improved methods for dealing with environmental issues.
The Successful candidate will:
Be NEBOSH & IEMA Qualified
Have the Food Hygiene Level 3
Hold an Auditor Certification
Be degree qualified in a related subject Experience & Competency
Have a minimum of 5 years working within the food industry in a relevant role
