Purpose of Role

  • To deliver effective teaching and learning via work-based qualifications to learners
  • Deliver Operational Excellence and Our Learner Promise to your caseload of learners


Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Role

  • Motivate and drive learners to achieve their work-based qualifications through great teaching and learning
  • Retain learners and employers by giving consistent great levels of service as per Our Learner Promise
  • Recruit for learners and employed Apprentice opportunities as appropriate to maintain minimum caseload and mix of learners as per Operational Excellence targets
  • Support the learning process through use of learning resources, Virtual College and facilitating workplace on-the-job training as required
  • Support Quality Improvement activities by attending standardisation and sharing best practise with colleagues to improve performance
  • Plan the teaching, learning and assessment process with learners and employers - through a variety of different assessment methods, give feedback and complete all relevant documentation accurately
  • Carry out consistent planned progressive visits and reviews with the involvement of both learner and employer in line with SFA and Our Learner Promise requirements
  • Provide information, advice and guidance throughout the learners qualification to promote progression onto a suitable higher level qualification
  • Provide learners with all the relevant policies and regulations to clarify what is expected of them and to ensure their safety
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you are responsible for or come into contact with
  • Consistently demonstrate our Paragon cultural and behavioural values


Essential Criteria Required

  • 2 years at minimum supervisory level within your sectors of expertise
  • Worked in the required industry within the last two years
  • IT Literate
  • Effective communication skills
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Strong administration skills
  • The ability to meet a range of targets
  • Up to date Literacy and Numeracy skills


Essential Criteria Required

  • A1 or D32/33 Assessor Qualification
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equ
  • Minimum of level 2 in Functional Skills - Maths, English and ICT
  • Relevant Technical Certificates
  • Teaching qualification - AIET
  • Clean driving licence and access to a car
