Position: Occupational Health and Safety Lead (major projects)
Location: Central London
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 plus package

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Lead (Major projects) to join our client who are a global consultancy (construction), operating in 5 continents with a turnover in excess of £1bn.

Core Responsibilities
Develop health risk profiles for each major project of the effects of the environment upon health and health outcomes and provide advice and management plans on control and monitoring,
Conduct workplace inspections and record findings on the in-house health and safety reporting system. Ensure these are dealt with and resolved.
Analyse, interpret and communicate data on the health and wellbeing of our employees and that of the supply chain group,
Develop and sustain relationships with project leadership teams and individuals with the aim of improving health and well-being
Appraise policies and recommend changes to prevent ill health and improve health
Have knowledge of and interpret health and safety legislation, pertaining to health protection and health surveillance and use knowledge to raise awareness to the working population and individuals needs for health protection and surveillance,
Act as a change agent to educate, motivate and support employees to make healthy lifestyle choices based upon current public health best practice and guidance,
Assess and utilise specialists information and support for hazard identification and risk control e.g. noise assessments, ventilation and vibrations assessments, dust etc.
Produce accurate, effective and helpful occupational health reports for management at operational level
Contribute to the development of occupational health standards and policies, and assist in the development and establishment of protocols and procedures at operational level; develop and lead on safe and competent practice
Implement and lead on major project occupational health audits
Work autonomously and where appropriate seek support and guidance from the Construction Lead OH specialist and/or line manager and/or HR for support in more complex occupational health issues
Identify and act on breaches of legal, safety and professional standards; identify when unsafe practice occurs and take appropriate action

The Successful candidate will have:
Occupational Health qualification preferable.
Occupational health and construction industry experience essential
The ability to influence and motivate teams and individuals both internal and external to assist in achieving business objectives.
