Principal Ecologist - Leeds and Bristol
My client is an international multidisciplinary consultancy, looking to recruit an experienced Principal Ecologist to join their teams in Leeds and Bristol. Reporting directly to the Head of Ecology, you'll be responsible for managing a team of ecologists, in addition to the delivery of ecological services and a key role in developing new business.
Previous experience in working within a multidisciplinary environment would be an advantage for this role.
Who you are:
·A degree in Ecology (or directly related subject) as well as a masters level or higher qualification.
·Chartered Environmentalist or Chartered Ecologist (desirable)
·Protected species experience with a minimum of two associated licences (dormouse or white clawed crayfish desirable)
·Excellent communication skills including extensive experience of the production high quality ecological assessments including EIA and HRA
·Proven ability of leading and directing teams of field surveyors on large projects
·UK ecological consultancy experience, with a strong client-orientated approach
·Excellent understanding of UK and European nature conservation legislation
·Excellent project and financial management skills
·Proven track record of developing new business
·Ability to inspire and commitment to develop the ecology team
·Experience of expert witness at a planning enquiry would be an advantage
·Willingness to travel throughout the UK
·Full UK driving licence
·Full member of CIEEM
