A fantastic new opportunity has arisen due to team expansion in the Scottish division of a successful consultancy. Working alongside an established team of flood risk engineers, hydrologists and hydrogeologists this is a real opportunity for career development with a competitive salary.
The successful Principal Flood Risk Consultant will have responsibility for the development and delivery of technical projects within the hydrology and flood risk division as well as undertaking ongoing business development activities. You should have advanced knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g. NPPF, TAN15 and SPP).
Other duties and responsibilities include:
  • Drainage design
  • Preparing hydrology / flood risk chapters for EIAs
  • Managing and undertaking FRA, drainage and SUDs design studies
  • Technical and commercial leadership, and mentoring junior members of staff

You will need:
  • Hydrology and flood risk technical expertise
  • Proven report writing skills
  • Client management, business development and team leadership skills and experience
  • The ability to network and win business
  • Full driving licence
  • Proficiency in hydrological software packages such as; FEH, WinDES, 1D and 2D modelling packages

It is desirable for you to have:
  • Masters degree in hydrology, flood risk or engineering
  • Chartered status, CEng or CIWEM
  • Ability to work overseas on short term contracts
