Our Client is a renewable energy company involved in the development, engineering, financing, construction, and operation & maintenance of large scale power plants.
We are looking for a Senior Engineer / Project Manager to support the development of its Hydropower Projects worldwide.
The Project Manager will lead the assessment of new potential hydro project sites, on Greenfield projects as well as on potential acquisitions.
He/she would also provide his expertise for the engineering and construction phases in order to select and drive local contractors who will participate in building the plant (electrical, civil works).
•Validate greenfield project development opportunities: validate pre-feasibility and production estimation.
•Due diligences: validate opportunities of co-development and acquisitions with potential partners: pre-feasibility and production estimation check.
•Supervising permitting process, grid connection procedures, manage the environmental studies and technical design management up to project finance.
•Provide civil engineering advice and guidance to the project team for the ongoing project.
•Leading the conceptual designs as well as detailed designs for the necessary civil works.
•BOQ and prices estimations review.
•Evaluation of technical proposals and bid evaluation reports.
•Review and comment upon contractors design drawings and documents to ensure compliance with contract specifications and good engineering practices; recommend alterations, amendments or specification changes.
•Be familiar with environmental and licensing processes and how to coordinate issues in the renewable energy development process.
•Reviewing the technical capability and capacity of prospective Sub-Contractors and Suppliers and ensuring that they are appointed in accordance with Company Procedures.
•Validate the bankability of the projects or make the projects bankable
You will need at least 5-years of experience in the development and design of Hydroelectric Power Plants in the 1-50 MW range, and will have worked on a significant number of different projects.
The Project Manager will be based in Paris with frequent travels on sites in France and other countries from Latin America, Europe, to Asia.
•Has a BSc or Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
•Has a 5-year experience minimum on the development, design, or due diligence of HPP projects for a reputable French or international company specialized in hydropower.
•Has solid knowledge about hydrology
•Has knowledge about the E&S international standards required for projects financed by IFC, EBRD,
•Full professional ability in English
•Has a clean driving license.
•Has the following computer skills: MS Office, AutoCAD
•Has Negotiation abilities
•Is confident in working with multi-disciplinary and international teams.
•Demonstrate excellent team playing ability, leadership and communication skills.
