We are currently recruiting for a leading engineering consultancy.

The role will primarily involve working on technical advisory assignments in the solar field. The work will predominantly be to provide technical support to the rest of the company and to collaborate in the continuous improvement and update of the PV yield calculation methodology. The work will also be project based PV due diligence work for investors and lenders.

The candidate will be responsible for most elements of technical assessments involved in the PV plant yield analysis.


  • Solar irradiance assessment and yield analysis
  • Research and development of new tools and client solutions
  • Proposal and report Writing
  • Proposal and report Writing
  • PV array sizing
  • Energy calculations, Performance Ratio calculation and analysis of production data


  • 3+ years of experience in the PV industry
  • Experience using PVSyst software
  • Experience using Meteonorm software
  • Familiarity with different meteorological databases
  • Experience of PV design. Commercial and Utility-Scale
  • Experience of PV systems performance analysis and detailed operational assessment.
  • Familiarity with PV industry and PV systems including modules, inverters, transformers, mounting structures, cabling
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver reports using clear and concise written English
  • Ability to interface with Clients
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel and work in UK and at our other offices, and potentially overseas, to remote areas, or to meetings
  • Experience in PV plant design: Layouts
  • Experience using SketchUp / Skelion solar design software
  • Experience undertaking electrical calculations such as cable sizing
  • Experience in construction of ground mounted and rooftop PV plants. Utility scale preferred.
  • Experience with different PV project scales: Residential, commercial and utility
  • Familiarity with different PV technologies, modules, inverters and tracking systems
  • Desirable: Language skills, e.g. Spanish, French, etc
