On behalf of our client we are seeking to appoint a Safety and Security Manager to join the team. The role sits within the Portfolio Management Team and will lead on Health, Safety and Security issues meeting all legal obligations regarding operational Health and Safety. The role also requires responsibility for meeting all corporate objectives in relation to Major Incident Management.
The successful applicant must have a broad exposure and experience with regards to asset management, Major incident management within a global environment.
Responsibilities also include:
Develop and maintain an appropriate and accredited Safety Management System to cover the organisations operational responsibilities.
To undertake research relating to forthcoming Health, Safety and Security legislation and prepare briefing papers and guidance notes for the appropriate persons and groups within the organisation.
Review accident reports from Service Providers and investigate accidents and near misses and seek ways to reduce the number and severity of accidents to as low as reasonably practicable
Implement an effective regime for completing H&S performance reviews and audits across the property portfolios to ensure compliance with H&S legal obligations and good practice arrangements.
Undertake site visits to confirm that Service Providers are compliant with statutory obligations and Landlords responsibilities.
To provide out of hours call out cover to escalate emergency MIM and H&S issues
To assist in providing training on Health, Safety and Security issues to staff.
Quantify risk to the organisation and reputation using accepted risk management methodology.
To advise the Construction Team on safety compliance and principles of building Health, Safety and Security requirements into property development projects as early as reasonably possible in the construction process.
Chair H&S and Management Forums.
To provide advice on risk assessments relating to the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, The Regulatory (Fire Safety) Order 2005, advise on the risk assessment process and review progress on service providers’ action plans.
Provide reporting to the Board on operational H&S compliance and major incident management.
Oversee an effective reporting process to the Board to record the effectiveness of local H&S and risk management arrangements on the global property investment portfolios.
Implement an effective regime for auditing and testing across the managed property portfolio.

To understand the Health and Safety responsibilities appropriate for your role and ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the relevant Company policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes responsibilities relating to your own H&S and others affected by your actions
To understand the Company’s Sustainability vision and apply the Sustainability Strategy as appropriate for your role
Membership of The Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)
Desirable: Chartered MIOSH/RSP
