The role will primarily involve working on technical advisory assignments in the solar field and providing technical leadership. The work will be project based PV due diligence work for investors and lenders and assisting developers in the earlier stages of project development. Travel abroad will be expected, especially around Europe.

  • Interpreting grid connection agreements/offers
  • Planning submissions/approvals
  • Assessment of construction and operational risks
  • Report writing
  • Providing support and direction for other members of staff
  • Contributing to systems and QA development within the company
  • Representing the company with clients and other external parties
  • Site inspections in the UK, and abroad if necessary
  • Ensuring deliverables are consistent with proposal


  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role with a utility, consultancy, developer, contractor, or equipment supplier
  • ONC / HNC / Degree level or above in Engineering
  • General technical knowledge of the design, operations and maintenance of PV electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong interest in renewables
  • Independence, flexibility, and ability to prioritise and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to formulate ideas, analyse, problem solve, and communicate results clearly Excellent team-working and communication skills and ability to deliver reports using clear and concise written English
  • Desire and motivation to develop, test and deliver new solutions to our Clients, and to keep up with / be ahead of industry best practice, with a solution-focussed attitude Willingness to work cross discipline (solar, onshore wind, offshore wind, biomass) Willingness to travel and work in UK and at our other offices, and potentially overseas, to remote areas, or to meetings
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Provide input into and support the company's Energy's training / culture / QA / marketing culture and overall business philosophy


  • Further education or second degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
  • Experience of the delivery of a project financial close
  • Detailed understanding of project development economics and project finance
  • Line management experience
  • Cross disciplinary knowledge, e.g. solar, biomass, conventional combustion technologies
  • Chartered engineer with relevant industry body
  • Membership of specialist industry groups / panels / conferences
  • Expert witness at Public Inquiry / Hearing experience
  • Additional language skills, e.g. Spanish, French, etc.
