Senior Engagement Manager
1. JOB PURPOSE
1.1 Lead the development and implementation of a plan for identify and engage all stakeholders within area Manchester M2, in line with the Phase Two strategy, so that stakeholder issues and potential petitions are identified and escalated.
1.2 To maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders within area Manchester M2, and represent HS2 at a senior level within the area.
2.1 Managing relationships with all stakeholders within area Manchester M2, including local authorities, MPs, communities and property owners.
2.2 Developing and implementing a plan with Engineering, Environment and Property colleagues to ensure all stakeholders are engaged as a minimum to the standard set out in the Phase Two engagement strategy.
2.3 Ensuring that engagement within area Manchester M2 is undertaken in line with the Phase two engagement strategy.
2.4 Identifying and escalating stakeholder issues and potential petitions within area Manchester M2 to the central engagement team.
2.5 Lead a diverse functional team, setting objectives, reviewing performance and participating in selection/promotion decisions to ensure that staff have the necessary skills and understanding to deliver the team's objectives.
2.6 Ensuring robust and auditable records management is maintained across all engagement activity.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including community leaders and representatives, local authorities and MPs, business groups and property owners.
Proven track record of planning and delivering engagement across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organisation, and with the full range of external stakeholders.
Excellent planning & organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage a large, diverse, skilled and geographically dispersed team.

5.1 Line management responsibilities for a team of up to 6 people.
5.2 Delegated financial authority to spend up to £50,000 on single transactions.
