A Senior Highways Engineer is required by our client a leading professional services, infrastructure and engineering organisation, where innovation and opportunity are everyday! The role is based within their established civil engineering division and is a pivotal function in the project design team, whose focus is delivering on major infrastructure projects, located in West Sussex.
·Leading, supervising and coaching the work of engineers and graduates on stages of civil engineering projects.
·Responsible for the preparation of highway design for major civil engineering projects, from conceptual ideas, tender and design stages.
·Managing financial and technical responsibility for design services.
You should be:
·Keen to take responsibility for tasks and teams within a multi-disciplinary environment.
·A strong communicator with the ability to liaise effectively and covey information with accuracy.
·Able to support graduate engineers, developing their technical skills and abilities.
·Confident with building client relationships and developing
·Ability to deal with clients in a friendly, efficient and effective way.
·Degree in civil engineering with post grad experience gained within a civil engineering infrastructure and highway design environment.
·Knowledgeable in two of more of the following: road geometry, roadside features, drainage, pavement design, traffic signs or vehicle restraint systems.
·Worked with Bentley OpenRoads, or similar highways design software.
·Knowledge of DMRB requirements.
·Proven experience of working with both contractors on design and build projects and Highways England or local authority on design and technical approval processes.
·Full UK driving licence.
·Full or working towards Chartership through the Institution of Civil Engineers.
