A vacancy for a Senior Structural Engineer has arisen with our client a dynamic and innovative professional services and engineering consultancy. They are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their existing bridges and tunnels team which forms part of their civil engineering sector.

If you are a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership and have proven experience in the design and construction of heavy civil engineering structures, please read on…

· You will lead and support project design teams who specialise bridges and tunnel structures.

· You will have ownership and lead others in activities for structural design solutions for complex civil engineering works, seeing through from tender to design stages.

Essential skills:

·Degree in civil engineering with post grad experience in the design of bridges or tunnels in the road and/or rail sector.

·Experience in two or more of the following: reinforced concrete or prestressed concrete bridges, steel bridges, cut and cover tunnels or immersed tunnels, underground station structures or large earth retaining structures.

·Knowledge of structural analysis software tools i.e. Lusas.

·Knowledge DMRB requirements.

·Experience of operating within quality management procedures and used to Highways England or local authority design and technical approval processes.

· Full UK driving licence.

Other attributes:

· Chartered Engineer or working towards with the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers.

·Experience of working with contractors on design and build projects.

·Active team player from a multi-disciplinary background

·Able to take ownership of tasks and see through to successful completion, sometimes working under pressure to meet deadlines

·Strong written and oral communication skills, able to build relationships with clients and stakeholders

·Driven by success and keen to learn and develop new skills.

·Act as a mentor and support graduate structural engineers in developing their skills.
