Job: Student Planner.
Our client is seeking to recruit, a Student Planner to the Company's Strategic Planning Research Unit. The position will be based in the new Sheffield City Centre Offices but will work nationally, providing advice and guidance to all offices and clients across the country.
SPRU's work is based on providing demographic and economic research to support planning applications and proposed allocations. It also offers advice to developers and Local Planning Authorities with respect to the production of development plans. Recent work has concentrated on the production of evidence on the five year housing land supply assessments, the objectively assessed need for housing, the economic impact of development proposals, including local plan examination and planning inquiry appearances in relation to these matters.
Candidates need to be able to demonstrate a high level of numeracy coupled with experience of using Microsoft Excel and statistical analysis in a planning or research environment. The post holder will work closely with the Directors of the SPRU on a range of strategic and smaller specialist projects. Candidates need at least to be on course to pass their third year of study with a minimum MPlan stage average of 2:2 and ideally be student members of the RTPI or equivalent
This post is permanent and will commence immediately. It would particularly suit a candidate with an interest and talent for information and data analysis wishing to gain experience on a diverse range of projects across the UK.
