We are pleased to be working the UK's biggest food manufacturer who are looking for a talented technical manager to join their team. Your main roles would be centred around:

• Ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations, customer requirements, company policies with respect to food safety and due diligence
• Developing and implementing effective management systems to ensure operational and technical integrity at all times

Your Accountabilities: 
• Develop and implement a site plan to deliver continuous improvement against quality, cost and technical KPIs and ensure that the factory & suppliers maintain the standards required by all customers and relevant codes of practice/guidelines.
• Ensure effective QMS in place that encompass all aspects of food safety and quality to IOS/EFSIS/BRC/TFMS/HACCP standards
• Review & develop your team in order to ensure that they maintain acceptable standards of performance, attendance & behavior and improve their performance against standards & targets, ensuring they are equipped to deliver against all expectations
• To ensure that the site is legally & contractually compliant in all areas and to actively promote hygiene & health & safety, immediately halting any un-safe working practice & taking appropriate action to remedy
• Achieve planned production throughput
• Monitor the ongoing progress of the operation, liaising with operations and other departments as necessary to predict problem areas & develop solutions
• Ensure that all employees within your team are aware of their roles/accountabilities, that training is provided to meet these and that employment & communication policies are complied with
• Communicate, liaise & escalate issues with the General Manager, colleagues and other departments where necessary
• Ensure that the site achieves and maintains the targeted level of accreditation through customer/legal auditing processes
• Technical and staffing budgets
Your Skills
• Industry recognised Technical qualification - HND/Degree or equivalent
• Advanced HACCP
• Demonstrable track record of delivering continuous improvement in technical & food safety standards
• Experience of managing internal & external auditing processes & requirements
• Excellent track record of managing teams; building capability ,addressing any issues effectively and in compliance with legislative and company policies & procedures
• Ability to clearly communicate and influence internally and externally at all levels of an organisation
• Self motivated and highly resilient
• Experience of a working with demanding retail or similar customer base
• A high level of flexibility is required and ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment with sometimes conflicting needs & wants
