Job Title : Senior Planner / Principal Planner
We are looking for a Senior or Principal Planner to join the Wellington office, from either another consultancy or from a local authority. You will have professional experience, be educated to degree level or equivalent and may have attained Chartered status. Knowledge and experience of working in the residential sector would be an advantage for this role. You will be involved in a variety of projects for a range of mainly private sector clients, providing advice from initial feasibility studies, to strategic advice and Development Plan promotions. You will complete detailed planning applications and appeals. You will have the opportunity to lead your own projects and develop your own client base, as well as to work within multidisciplinary teams on larger proposals. Commercially minded, you will demonstrate enthusiasm, energy and the ability to work under your own initiative to meet our client's expectations, and help expand business. You will be busy, challenged and well rewarded.
We are seeking an RTPI qualified town planner with professional experience to join the busy Wellington planning team. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a varied workload, assisting Directors on projects for a range of clients. Senior and Principal Planners are responsible for the day-to-day management of projects and may have some budgetary accountability. They will be expected to provide reliable technical input, delivered in a timely and efficient way. The role also involves business development and client relationship management.
You will demonstrate proven experience in planning consultancy and/or local authority planning environment, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will have excellent communication skills, allowing you to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams internally, as well as with external clients. You will be able to show evidence of continuing professional development.
