Waste Technology Consultant

ALLEN & YORK have been given the opportunity to represent a client, who is world leading in innovation, independence and engineering to fill the position of Waste Technology Consultant in the South West region.

They are seeking a candidate who can work within a team and bring forward new and innovative ways of thinking to problem solving and have a genuine passion for their area of expertise. The successful candidate will play a role in the future of the company, by enabling them to achieve their commercial objectives through the delivery of customer focused solutions.

Scope of Role & Responsibilities:

  • Must have previous practical experience of municipal and industrial waste treatment operations, to develop their growth strategy
  • Provide technical support for consultancy projects on recovery options for specific waste arisings
  • Implementation of technological improvements in the light of resource recovery or waste characterisation consultancy projects
  • Contributing to wider service offerings arising from resource recovery, process optimisation and process evaluation opportunities

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of first degree in a STEM discipline. An MSc or higher would be advantageous
  • Proven experience in waste treatment operations since graduating
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations
  • Ability to work in compromising situations, possess a "can do" attitude, able to devise innovative approaches to problems encountered
  • Ability to lead, motivate and willingly takes ownership of issues and seeks team participation to achieve best solution
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Eligible to work permanently in the UK
