Assistant GIS Technician Up to £28k DOE
Hampshire, Hybrid
Our client is a leading Ecology consultancy based out of Hampshire, they have a team of highly experienced Ecologists working on a range of project across the UK, from small scale housing developments all the way up to public sector projects and large scale infrastructure developments. They are looking to add a GIS Technician to support the ecologists with mapping using Arcview and QGIS.
The role
- Maps to assist with undertaking protected species surveys, such as plans to assist with field surveys.
- Maps depicting designated sites for nature conservation, habitats, protected species survey results, locations of surveyors and other ecological features.
- Plans depicting protected species mitigation, such as the location of wildlife fencing or bat boxes.
- Undertaking analysis to aid the completion of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments. For example, digitising habitats and manipulating client landscaping plans and AutoCAD drawings in QGIS.
Skills and Experience we're looking for:
- Good working knowledge and experience using QGIS or Esri ArcMap software,
- Ability to follow instructions with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage own workload, prioritising and multitasking on different projects.
- Experience of using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office
- Full driving licence.
