Job Purpose/Summary Details
An exciting opportunity for an experienced DCO Lead Developer to lead the development significant Solar PV projects. These Nationally Strategic Infrastructure Projects will require planning permission through a Development Consent Order.
You will be responsible for: running the projects(including budget, programme and team management) and deciding project strategy up to point of planning consent; handling and undertaking community relations and communications; producing an Environmental Statement; securing planning consent; managing consultants; obtaining planning condition compliance and supporting planning compliance.

Organisational Context
This role is key to securing planning consent for a project, the stage at which most of the project's profit is secured.
This role will report directly to the UK and Ireland Development Director and be afforded business wide resources to manage the job at hand.

Purpose of the Role:
To drive the development of a NSIP - Solar PV through the DCO planning process, from initial land acquisition, pre-design conceptual stage through feasibility and design, to obtaining full planning consent. You will be leading a team of external consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Scoping, budgeting and appointing the external consultant/legal team responsible helping us secure the DCO

  • Managing that multi-disciplinary team from early stage through to consent and potentially post consent conditions

  • The candidate will sit at the centre of this team, operating in a project management role to ensure each constituent part is working in a coordinated manner with the rest of the team.

  • Work through the pre-application phase with each sub-consultant/legal team to ensure the application remains on time/budget… and on track for formal application

  • Once the DCO application has been submitted, the candidate will be expected to manage and orchestrate the response through the examination phase, stepping in to represent where appropriate

  • The candidate will be responsible for the overall development process for the project

Experience:

  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate they have been lead developer/project manager for DCO projects.

  • Prior experience on renewable energy projects, in particular solar will be preferred, although not strictly necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Project Management, Engineering or related discipline

  • Ideally a Master's Degree and/or Professional Membership in a related discipline

  • Valid Drivers' License (preferable)

  • Eligible to live and work in the UK
