Energy Networks Consultant - Electricity
Edinburgh, Cambridge, or London
Working Arrangements: Hybrid (2 days in office), 35 hours per week

We're working with a pioneering consultancy looking for a technically strong Energy Networks Consultant to help shape the future of the electricity system. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an engineering background who thrives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and infrastructure transformation.

You'll be joining a high-impact team supporting electricity networks across the UK with cutting-edge innovation projects, regulatory insight, and long-term strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and lead innovative projects focused on electricity distribution networks and smart system transformation.
  • Work closely with clients to shape strategies and solutions aligned with the future needs of the energy system.
  • Apply technical knowledge in power systems to assess new technologies, digitalisation, and network flexibility.
  • Integrate technical, regulatory, and commercial insights into consulting outputs and proposals.
  • Collaborate on strategic planning, business cases, and innovation project design.

About You:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (Master's/PhD preferred).
  • A solid foundation in power systems, electricity networks (DNO/TNO), or energy infrastructure.
  • Proven experience working on strategic and/or innovation-focused projects in the energy sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients and present complex technical ideas clearly.
  • A curious, collaborative mindset with the drive to shape change in the energy transition.
