Geo-Environmental Consultant
An opportunity has arisen to join a growing Consultancy as a Geo-Environmental Consultant. You will assist with the growth of the geo-environmental business area for external clients and to manage assistant, and to assist with other services within the team's portfolio. Key Deliverables:
- To undertake site walkovers and assist/prepare Phase I Desk Studies.
- Supervise ground investigations which may comprise of trial pitting, window sampling and/or cable percussion drilling.
- Log samples/cores to BS5930 and prepare engineers' logs using proprietary software.
- Undertake gas and groundwater monitoring including sampling as necessary.
- Undertake validation sampling.
- Assist in the preparation of CoC for contaminated land and geotechnical investigations.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports including Generic Risk Assessments and Ground Investigation Reports.
- Contribute to internal management of projects and associated resourcing appropriate to experience and capability.
- Implement and manage the quality procedures and safety procedures for all geo-environmental services
- Aligned with organisational strategy, culture, values and HR practices
Required competencies:
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering
- Either recent graduation or up to 1-2 years of experience in geo-environmental consultancy.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- An understanding of the ground investigation and geo-environmental industry, including knowledge of relevant plant and equipment, standard specifications, various conditions of contract forms, Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
- Basic experience in producing geotechnical and geo-environmental interpretative reports based upon analysis of factual site investigation data and test results
- CSCS Card
- Current Driving Licence
Desired Competencies:
- Knowledge in UK legislation and guidance relating to contaminated land and geotechnical engineering
