Head of Planning - (Renewable Energy)

Are you an experienced Chartered Head of Planning (RTPI) who would like to make the move into the renewables? or a Town Planner with renewables energy experience who is prepared to commute at least once a day a week to Swindon?

This is a chance for you to further your career and lead a small team of Planners within the renewables market, with at least two direct reports, your ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels, including during difficult or challenging circumstances along with your experience of working closely with colleagues to ensure the provision of a seamless service, jointly planning and sharing workload and supporting other team members to ensure the project outputs are met accordingly

As Head of Planning you will be expected to manage a small team of planners, as the Planning Manager you will be responsible for identifying and delivering all planning activities for the successful development and completion of the businesses sustainable energy project portfolio. This will include completion of site feasibility works, managing all planning requirements for live projects including planning applications, consenting, public consultation, liaising with clients and regulatory bodies and advising the company on planning issues and requirements.

The role will also require you to take a strategic overview to use planning to inform future renewable energy projects. This may include identifying areas across the UK which have a positive planning approach to renewable energy projects to master planning key projects such as heat networks. You will have direct responsibility for financial resources and / or physical assets.

Ideally you will be a Chartered Member of the RTPI, you will hold an RTPI accredited Honours Degree and/or Diploma or master's Qualification. As Head of Planning you will deliver planning activities for the company's renewable energy projects which include, solar, storage, heat networks and waste to energy solutions.

You will have a consultancy background and have built up a strong client base covering a diverse range of projects across the whole of the UK. While taking a broad area of responsibility for all aspects of the planning and development process including planning policy and appraisal work, land promotion, provision of planning consultancy services along with detailed development management and delivery.
