Marine Geotechnical Engineer

Job description

Marine Geotechnical Engineer

Homebased-Liphook, Cardiff and Dundee offices

Are you an experienced marine geotechnical engineer ready to take the next step in your career? This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking consultancy working at the forefront of the marine sector. You'll contribute to a wide range of offshore projects across renewable energy, subsea cables, ports and harbours, oil and gas, and energy transition. The role involves interpreting geotechnical data, reviewing seabed and soil investigations, conducting geohazard assessments, and developing strategies for trenching and offshore construction. You will work closely with clients and internal teams, contributing your technical expertise to deliver innovative, practical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in civil or geotechnical engineering and at least three years of experience in marine geotechnical work. You should have a solid understanding of offshore risks and mitigation strategies, experience in geotechnical investigations or subsea infrastructure, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, along with familiarity with health, safety and environmental requirements for offshore projects. Additional experience in offshore renewables, cable or pipeline projects, marine surveys, or data visualisation tools such as GIS or CAD would be advantageous. Certifications such as NEBOSH or marine survival training, or fluency in a second language, would also be beneficial.

In return, you'll join a supportive and growing team where you can thrive professionally while contributing to meaningful and high-impact marine projects. You'll enjoy a flexible work environment, strong opportunities for development, and a culture that values both innovation and collaboration.
