Senior Consultant - Network and Security - Basingstoke

As a specialist consultant, you will work within the Technology Services team helping to deliver Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV), next generation Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Smart Cities related services and projects to clients across the UK and internationally. The team provides services from strategic advice to highly technical research, design and delivery related engineering and consultancy services. You will be working with clients that are primarily based in the UK & Ireland with many opportunities to collaborate with other parts of the businesses European and International business lines and regions.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be expected to be an expert in computer networks and cyber security and take ownership of design, development and technical delivery of projects.
Ideally you will have been working in a similar role in transportation, smart city or the ICT sector, with Experience or postgraduate degree in Data Networks/Cyber Security or in an associated field with network and security, preferably a Bachelor's Degree in, Telecommunications/Computer/ Information Systems Engineering.
You will draw on this knowledge to provide consultancy and design services in relation to computer networks and security across a wide range of clients and technologies. Typical projects are mainly in the area of future transport systems (road and rail) and smart cities, so previous exposure to these fields is a must.
Capturing and analysing requirements, creating solution designs and developing technical specifications and reports while providing support for systems installation and commissioning and define, document and put into effect system standards, along with identifying and managing technical issues for clients; provide expert-level review and recommendation in respect of issue resolution. Will come as second nature to you.
As the successful candidate you will have a Professional certification in computer networks / information systems / security e.g. CCNP, as well as expert-level knowledge of networking components such as routers, modems, adaptors, switches, firewalls and servers, as well as related protocols and standards, this in addition to your In-depth understanding of wired and wireless communication systems and technologies, including IoT, 4G/5G, LAN, WAN, FTTx, and virtual networks, will give you the ability and instinct for developing novel ideas in close engagement with clients/partners/technology providers.
