The role
10 years + PQE lawyer qualified in Scotland and/or England & Wales to provide legal advice and support to relevant business units working closely with other members of the legal team. This full-time role is required to support an increased portfolio of renewable energy projects, in line with our growth strategy, including onshore wind, battery storage and solar across the UK and Ireland and an increased number of corporate sale transactions.
You will primarily support the commercial and development teams (in particular the property managers)
The role will involve supervision of other lawyers within the team.
Key Accountabilities
This senior role will focus primarily on property work (and some aspects of planning work) to principally include transactional work on major projects, corporate support work on major project sales and involvement in approvals of documentation being dealt with by external solicitors. In addition, the role will involve providing general ad hoc legal and commercial advice typical of an in-house position as well as dealing with property and planning issues specific to the renewable energy industry on a wide variety of renewable energy projects. The role will also involve instructing and managing external legal counsel in specialist areas and major transactions/projects.
Collaboration and liaison with personnel and teams is a fundamental part of the role.

Renewable energy or large infrastructure project development.

Excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport and work alongside a range of commercial and technical personnel, sharing a genuine interest in RES' business and future.
Experience
Post qualification experience in property and ideally also in planning.
Property/planning aspects of M&A
General experience in other areas of law would be beneficial although not essential.
Commercial awareness.
Qualitifications
Dual-qualification (qualified in both Scotland and in England & Wales) would be beneficial as work is cross-border, otherwise a willingness to become dual-qualified.
