Senior / Principal Aquatic Consultant
Nationwide, UK (Homebased)
Are you an Aquatic professional, with experience with flow gauging, pollution investigations, macroinvertebrate surveys, fish passage investigations, abstraction impact assessments, invasive non-native species surveys, crayfish surveys, habitat walkover surveys and river restoration advice, electrofishing surveys and intertidal surveys in addition to multiple EIA, HRA and WFD assessments, looking for a great new role?
We're looking for a Principal and / or Senior grade Aquatic Consultant to join a respected environmental consultancy based at one of their offices in England or Scotland, including home working. If this sounds like you, read on!
The role
Depending on your level of experience your responsibilities will be;
Co-ordinating the production of tenders
Project management, report writing and delivery
Financial management of projects
Managing and mentoring junior members of the team (for more senior grades)
Designing and implementing mitigation strategies
Meeting with clients and representing our team at conferences and other industry events
Co-ordinating and leading (or assisting for more junior grades) aquatic surveys including:
habitat assessments (e.g. fisheries habitat, RHS and RCS)
fisheries surveys (e.g. electrofishing, seine netting, fyke netting)
river restoration and fish passage assessments and options appraisals
macroinvertebrate sampling,
crayfish surveys,
water and sediment quality investigations
pollution response and investigations
spot flow gauging
Requirements
You must;
be suitably qualified, with an undergraduate level degree
have a high level of technical competence in both desk and field based activities
have experience in a commercial environmental setting
be proficient IT and report-writing skills
have the ability to communicate with clients, stakeholders and peers
have the ability to travel throughout the UK and occasionally work from other offices, potentially including overseas.
