Associate Director - Climate Transition Analytics

Job description

Associate Director - Climate Transition Analytics

This is your chance as Associate Director to be part of the quest to accelerate the global economy along a path towards an efficient and effective climate transition by utilising analytics and advanced risk assessment capabilities along with vast knowledge of the economic and financial impacts of climate change to mitigate the effects of climate change on the global economy.

In this role you will be working with corporations, governments and investors assess risks and prospects related to climate change.

You will be responsible for developing business strategies and financial products to manage physical risks and opportunities associated with the transition.

Your workload will be split between working with the team based in London and clients globally, including in both the developed world and in China, India, Indonesia, Africa and other emerging markets.

As the successful candidate, you will be as comfortable producing detailed analysis and reports for experts, while giving presentations or interpreting data for audiences without a climate transition background.

You will have an understanding of the economic challenges faced as part of a global transition to a low carbon economy, ideally you will have experience with the UNFCCC climate negotiations, sustainability, climate indices, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing.

Drawing on your experience with scenario analysis and company valuation, you will apply this to sectors most exposed to climate transitions including upstream energy markets, energy intensive industries, power generation, transmission & distribution networks, aerospace, agriculture and transportation, to help appraise company business models, business financing, and the impact of uncertainties around climate transitions on the cash flows of publicly traded companies and national governments.

As Associate Director - Climate Transition analytics, you will likely hold a Master's degree in economics, finance, public policy or accepted professional financial qualification (e.g. ACA or CFA) and will have utilised this experience to interact with policymakers, private sector participants and other stakeholders on a regular basis to carry out joint analysis, brief and discuss findings effectively, and to ensure analysis undertaken relevant.

In return you will receive a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
