Allen & York are delighted to be partnering with a unique, purpose-driven sustainability consultancy who work with a range of clients across various sectors, including retail and food and drink, as they now look to recruit a Head of Department for their Sustainable Business Team, of which there are twelve members. This is also a senior leadership role where you'll be part of a four-person strategic Team, so will influence the strategic direction of the business and help guide it to further success.
This role is critical to the success of the business so they're looking for someone who's confident in their ability to engage with clients, talk confidently about the services and products that the company offer, and have sufficient technical knowledge in the sustainability arena to be able to consult effectively. It's very much an outwardly facing role, client focused so you'll be comfortable engaging with clients and other stakeholders, talking about sustainability whilst also managing the Sustainable Business Team, inspiring them and guiding them.
You'll need to be credible from a sustainability perspective, so have a good all-round knowledge of various technical areas in sustainability and a level of gravitas is required, for both new and existing clients and also for the Team internally.
Based in Central London in a co-working space - which in itself is a sustainable building and has a vibrant atmosphere - they really value the Team being in the office whilst appreciating that people want flexibility as well so they offer hybrid working, with three days in the office and 2 from home. For the right candidate, they're also open to considering someone who is looking to work four days a week and be in the office for half of this.
